‘Rent the Runway’

November 12th, 2009

Anyone in the mood for a Netflix for clothes? Sorry, not clothes, but haute couture no less!  A new website called ‘Rent the Runway’ is hoping to make high end fashion as accessible as Netlix has made movies. Like Netflix, it will be a mail order service. It is still in its nascent, testing phase at this point. Upon its launch, fashion happy women will be able to rent dresses from designers like Diane von Furstenburg and Herve Leger. The rentals will span $50 to $200 for a 4 night rental. They are shipped directly to the address and once worn, the dress(es) are put in a prepaid envelope and shipped back. And by the way, dry cleaning is included in the price 8-)
