Reveling in my vacation (while the kids spent hour upon hour jumping on their new trampoline), I treated myself to another laptop-netflix-streaming movie-in-bed today. “Sin Nombre” 3.5 amaras is about a young boy from Central America, who tries to escape the gang to which he belongs after experiencing the fulitlity of the gang’s brutality. The story line is very real, and very harsh, and the acting brilliant. Not a mood lifter for sure, but very well deserving of all its nominations. It offers you a perspective on illegal immigration that makes you question your beliefs on the rights and wrongs of this prickly and political issue. Well worth watching.
