The famous Phagwah Parade celebrating Holi in Richmond, Queens on March 7th, 2010.  The Phagwah Parade in Richmond Hill, Queens, New York is the biggest celebration in North America! Phagwah, or Holi, is the Indo-Caribbean Hindu celebration of the new year. Every spring, the Sunday after the first full moon of the Hindu calendar, Phagwah paints the streets as kids and families “color” one another with gulal and powder and chase away the winter grays amidst much joy and gaiety!
