“Commissioned on November 29, 1943, USS Hornet(CV-12) inflicted more damage on the enemy in WWII than any other aircraft carrier. A National Historic Landmark since 1991, the USS Hornet is now a museum in the San Francisco Bay.” It was originally called USS Kearsarge.

I am a Girl Scout, and as a field trip, we went to see, the USS Hornet, also to earn our navy seal pride badge. The ship was an aircraft carrier in world war two. We spent the night on the boat, and the boat weighed a lot, (I can’t be exact). We went up on the Flight Deck, and in the captain’s quarters. The stairs were very steep, so you had to watch your step. We went down to see the Post Office and the Brig (Jail). We had to serve breakfast the following morning however. The only thing I didn’t like about the Hornet was that the bathrooms were called heads and the bathroom closest to our cabin had horrible toilets, two people shared a curtain for their stall, and the curtains were SEE THROUGH! Luckily, my friend and I guarded each other while going to the bathroom.
It was a great experience, the boat didn’t leave the dock though. It was very fun and exciting.
