Come hear about books and movies, recipes we have tried, parenting and parenthood, and let fashion not be denied! We are two mums from the Indian subcontinent, and in our blog we take great pride!
AmaraMoms is for parents like us, who live away from our native lands, and constantly experience both the joys and frustrations of doing so. We take a lot of solace in our daily mullings and musings over chai and biscuits, but wait…if you ask for a biscuit, it’s likely to come drowned in gravy! Better be safe and learn to love chai and cookies instead!
It was a typical rainy day in February 2007, on a long drive to San Francisco, that we decided to launch our idea: to enable cross cultural parenting. “We” are two moms and career women : Bindiya and Manisha, ably assisted by our kids team of daughters and sons. We come from India and have lived in the Bay Area for several years. We hope you will stop by for cookies and chai, and join us in our cross cultural parenting chit chat.
And, last but not least…
Why “Amara“?
Amara is another name for a flower of everlasting beauty; a flower that never fades. How could we resist that?
